In 2005 at the age of 23 I trained at the Cambridge School of Beauty Therapy and truly enjoyed every moment!
The condensed nature of the training meant I was able to start working as a fully qualified therapist within 1 year. I spent 3 years working in a local salon and then went on to open my own salon.
The school provides a friendly and professional learning environment and fully equips you for being a successful therapist with highly-regarded qualifications.
The staff are very welcoming and, because the course attracts trainees from a wide age range, it is easy to fit in amongst others that want a complete career change.

After leaving secondary school in June 2008, I was delighted to attend The Cambridge School of Beauty Therapy in the following September, and within 1 year I had been awarded my CIBTAC and CIDESCO qualifications. I left the school in May 2009, at just age 17, and have since been working as a full time therapist in the very well established salon in St Ives, Optimum Beauty, where I work with 8 other therapists. I enjoy the opportunity to work with other skilled therapists as this has helped me in becoming an excellent therapist. Without these highly regarded qualifications I do not feel I would have gained such a promising role within the industry.
Everything you learn at the school is very relevant to everyday life as a beauty therapist. When I first joined the salon I felt confident working with my first clients because everything was very fresh in mind due to the high level of teaching I received at the school. The school prepares you for working with clients by running spa days, in which members of the public visit the school for treatments. I found this useful as when I attended my interview for the therapist position, I had to do a trade test, this didn't phase me at all, as I felt so well practiced.
Since leaving the school I have been given the opportunity to attend further training courses to broaden my knowledge of other treatments. I do not feel I would have been able to attend these courses if my beauty knowledge from the school hadn't have been so thorough.
I have been on an Intense Pulse Light training course in London, which is a treatment very similar to laser treatment. I have also attended a week long residential course training in the product Elemis, which has enabled me to learn more about products and perform various treatments. Elemis is an international brand, so of course the trainers and other students knew the qualifications that I had completed at the school were very highly regarded. The Elemis spas all over the world have therapists holding these prestige qualifications; it is a great ticket to highly approved salons all over the world. I believe that attending The Cambridge School of Beauty Therapy helped me to do all of this, and I feel that without this knowledge I would not have gained the role I have, or have had such opportunities available to me.
